Friendship Force SFBA come and join us at the planning party for Virginia Inbound at Rose Marie's house (5188 Earle St., Fremont) Saturday, June 27th, 4- 8 PM for our Central Virginia Inbound Journey. We have 9 ambassadors visiting us August 5 - 11th (6 nights).
This planning party will be a potluck BBQ starting at 4 pm; please bring your food to BBQ and a dish to share and ready to serve.
These are the topics for the business part of the meeting which will be 4 - 5:30 pm:
a. We will introduce our home hosts and then we will go over the itinerary identifying those days where drivers and day hosts are needed. We will also identify any open issues.
b. We will get an update on Clipper cards, especially how much money each person needs to have on their Clipper card if they are planning on going on the San Francisco days (Rose Marie)
c. I will have draft booklets for everyone, and we will learn a little bit about the ambassadors.

Virginia Itinerary Below
Wednesday, August 5th - Welcome Day - Central Virginia club arrives and we hold the Welcome Party at Shirley’s house.
Thursday, August 6th - Santa Cruz Day - We visit Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park, have our sack lunch at a local winery with wine tasting. Then, we will drive to Santa Cruz to visit the Seymour Marine Discovery museum for a tour. Following that we will drive to Capitola to have dinner at Zelda's, a nice seafood restaurant on the beach in Capitola. After dinner we drive home.
Friday, August 7th - San Francisco Tour Day 1 - We take public transportation to San Francisco, ride the cable car, take the bus to visit the Palace of Fine Arts and the beach where we see the skyline of San Francisco Bay. Then, we take the bus to the Golden Gate bridge. We walk on the bridge (need to dress warmly). Once our visit is finished, we take the bus to Sausalito for lunch and souvenir shopping. Then, we take the ferry from Sausalito back to San Francisco. Then, we take public transportation home. West bay folks will then enjoy a potluck dinner at Bunny Sprunger’s house.
Saturday, August 8th - Free Day - Each home or day host consults with their ambassador(s) to plan their activities for the day. Ideas: visit the Oakland Zoo, visit Monterey/Carmel (lots of driving but scenic), visit Filoli house & gardens, etc.
Sunday, August 9th - San Juan Bautista & Farewell Party Day - Visit San Juan Bautista including the Mission at 11 am and then reconvene for the Farewell Party, at Dave Rice & Lori Kay Stout’s home at 2:30 – 5 pm
Monday, August 10th - San Francisco Tour Day 2 - We will take public transportation to San Francisco's Golden Gate Park. While there we will visit the Botanical Garden, the Academy of Sciences, and the Japanese Tea Garden. Following these we will take public transportation home. This is a good day for the ambassadors to take their home hosts to dinner.
Tuesday, August 11th - The ambassadors depart.
